Description
Are you on a learning journey to enhance your Indigenous learnings? We are! Join Sandy and I as we explore the longhouses, medicine garden, biodiversity displays and much more at Crawford Lake during their SweetWater celebration.
Maple sugaring is a truly Indigenous tradition. Visit Crawford Lake to learn more about how Indigenous sugar making has changed over the years. https://www.conservationhalton.ca/mapleseason/
Park entry requires gate admission ($8-11) through Halton Conservation: https://admin.parkpassproject.com/book?inventory=1229284276&inventoryGroup=1554186518
We will also do a hike around the rare meromictic lake and possibly explore some side trails of the Bruce Trail if there's time and interest. Please wear appropriate gear, hiking boots, poles, layers and bring a lunch, snack and water. FYI there is a basic canteen and washrooms on site but we will be out and about during our time there.
Mountsberg Conservation Area is close by and they also have sweetwater activities. Pending time & interest, we may explore as a group after our time at Crawford lake 🙂
Join us as we enjoy, learn and appreciate.
