Please join us a car hike on Northeast Trail in Rouge National Urban Park. This trail passes through a variety of landscapes such as wetlands, forests, meadows, and farmland. Along the route, we will find seven boardwalks, including a pergola seating area with views of a marsh. Constructed with a durable fiber-glass substructure designed to last for centuries, these boardwalks represent one of Rouge National Urban Park’s latest eco-friendly projects.This is a shuttle hike from Glasgow Trailhead to Black Walnut Day Use Area.
Please
- be prepared to use your vehicle to transport hikers
- bring a garbage bag for your dirty boots and clean footwear to change into for the ride back the start. We will leave those things in the cars at the start so you don’t have to carry them on the hike.
- wear a comfortable boots and layers for the weather.
- pack hiking poles, icers, bug spray and sunblock.
- bring 2 L of water, snack/lunch.

Join us on the third of four hikes to cover the necessary 60 kms of the Dufferin Section in 2025 to earn the coveted Dufferin Hi-Land 60th Anniversary Badge. This is a shuttle hike from 2nd Line E to 30 Sideroad. Please be prepared to use your vehicle to transport hikers and please bring a garbage bag for your dirty boots and clean footwear to change into for the ride back to the start. This is an end-to-end hiking series to complete the Dufferin Highlands section of the Bruce Trail in 4 hikes, join us for one, some or all.The hikes will be undertaken at a medium pace of approximately 4 km/hour for 13 – 15 kms each hike. Please consider your fitness level before registering, this is a group hike, and everyone is expected to keep pace with the person in front of them for the duration of the hike.
The weather can be changeable at this time of year, so dress in layers for any possibility. The terrain may be wet and slippery in sections, wear hiking boots and bring hiking poles. Bring a snack, plenty of water and other hydration as needed.
We will be travelling from south to north over the series. The series will require car shuffles, and everyone will be expected to participate as drivers.
Today’s hike, the second of four, will be 14.2 km in length. Please plan to arrive at the meeting place by 8:15 am as we will start the car shuffle at 8:30 am sharp.
Further details will be provided to registered hikers a few days prior to the hike.

Join us to HELP FILL THE CRIB!!We will hike in from Ridge Road picking invasive plants such as garlic mustard and greater celandine along the way (reusable grocery bags or garbage bags work well). Once at the crib location, we will dump our bags and pick garlic mustard in that area for a while, dump it, then hike back out. Plenty of native spring plants to admire along the way – reducing invasive plants will give these species a chance to thrive!

Come and join us on these 5 hikes to earn Caledon’s Stained Glass Fundraising badge, which is part of the collectable Bruce Trail Club’s stained glass themed fundraiser set. This series of 5 hikes will take place on consecutive Wednesdays, beginning April 30. Bring snacks and your choice of hydration. In early April, hike details for hikes 2 – 5, will be emailed to participants. On this first hike, please meet and be ready for an 8:30 shuttle. We’ll hike through the Badlands (which may be muddy) and the Forks of the Credit Provincial Park. First we will head east along the newly developed waterfront toward the Haida ( last remaining WWII Tribal class destroyer in the world) is docked. We will proceed into Hamilton’s north end to visit a few historical sites including Christ’s Church Cathedral, proceding down James Street N past Liuna Station and the old Customs House. Please join me for an enjoyable spring flowers hike on the Bruce Trail (main and side trails). We will be following a loop of ca 14 km and try to keep a moderate pace of about 3 km/h. The trail is a bit hilly with a few uphill sections after which we will stop for short water breaks. There will be a lunch break for about 20 min. We should be back to the parking lot around 3:30 pm.Please be dressed for the weather, wear hiking shoes/boots and pack your rain gear (just in case), at least 2 L of water, light lunch and snacks, your sunglasses and/or hut.
We will meet on the dedicated Hockley Valley PNR / Bruce Trail parking lot on the Hockley Road (opposit side of the Hockley Valley Resort and the Black Birch Restaurant (exact map location
