Distance: Saturday’s hike is approximately 28km. Sunday’s hike is approximately 22km.

Description

Plan to hike the Toronto section in late summer over two days.
On Saturday, the bus will take participants to the north end of the Toronto section. Hikers will then hike south to Limehouse  – a distance of approximately of 28kms.
On Sunday, the bus will take participants south to Campbellville Rd and Appleby Line where hikers will hike north to Limehouse – a distance of approximately 22kms.

There will be checkpoints along the way where light snacks and water will be available. Those who complete the distances on both days will be receive the special Club E2E badge.

Registration cost for members is $50. Refunds will not be issued. Attendance is limited to 100 (two buses). Registration for members begins at 8:30 am and if spots are still available at 8:00 pm on June 17, registration will also be opened for non-members at a cost of $60 each. The fee covers: bus transportation each morning from the hike end location to the hike start, a badge, parking permits, 1 or 2 checkpoints each day. You will hike on your own without a hike leader. Description

Join us to visit the towns of Elora and Fergus of Wellington County, known as “Ontario’s most beautiful village”. (elorafergus.ca)

We will walk along the Elora Cataract Trailway into the town of Elora to the Elora Gorge Lookout in Victoria Park.

Ample free time will be given to roam and wander the streets of Elora.

After free time, we will walk along the Trestle Bridge Trail to the Wellington County Museum and Archives where time will be given to visit the museum (general admission is by donation).

After the museum we will continue along the Trestle Bridge Trail into the town of Fergus, visiting Templin Gardens and Confederation Park along the way and end up in downtown Fergus where the Cogs and Clockwork – Fergus Steampunk Festival will be taking place. There will be a refreshment stop here before heading back to the bus.

Description

Looking to get out on a Saturday but not give up your whole day? Saturday Shorts, a hiking series, will get you out in a small group on a short hike. This Saturday’s hike is a hilly challenge as we use side trails and the main trail to make a 4 km loop in the Hockley Valley Provincial Nature Reserve. Bring water and a snack, if desired. There will be a short break. No dogs please.

Description

NBTC SUMMER NATURE HIKE

Join us for the NBTC Nature Hike series to learn more about the biodiversity along the Niagara Escarpment.  We will explore the trails throughout Louth Conservation Area which offer beauty in all four seasons. Hikes will be held January, May, August & October – it will be amazing to see all the changes throughout the seasons.  Your hike leaders, members of the NBTC Biodiversity Committee, will share their knowledge of the amazing flora & fauna along the trail as well as any biodiversity projects in the works for this year.

Parking is at the Louth Conservation Area Parking Lot on Staff Ave. Hiking boots and poles are recommend as the terrain is very rocky in sections.

Note that the hike will be rescheduled in the event of heavy rains or heavy snow. This hike was rescheduled from August so lets hope for good weather!

Description

Hiking 101 is an introductory course for novice hikers, members and non-members alike.  If you want some guidance on where to begin, what to wear, and what to take along, this is the course for you. The course is 3  Sunday sessions with a combination of workshop/Q& A followed by short hikes along the trail.  Dress in weather appropriate clothing and wear good walking shoes.

60th Anniversary Vintage Badge End-to-End

Earn the CHBTC 60th Anniversary vintage E2E badge in three hikes. Pack sufficient water and snacks to boost your energy. Sturdy footwear is highly recommended. Participants can simultaneously earn the “60 for the 60th” badge as well. Badges will be available for purchase, $10.00 for BTC members and $15.00 for non-members.

Hike 1 – Hike from Mono Community Centre south to km 45.4/Mono 5 Sideroad. Distance 27.5.

Hike 2 – Hike from km 0.0/Creditview Road north to km 20.8/Escarpment Sideroad and Heartlake Road. Distance 20. 8.

Hike 3 – Hike from km 20.8/Escarpment Sideroad and Heartlake Road north to 45.4/Mono 5 Sideroad. Distance 24.6.

Note: Participants meet at the end locations and shuttle together to the starting points.

Hike 1 of 7 – Caledon Hills E2E.  Hike includes the last 3 km of Toronto Section, through the Cheltenham Badlands, then north along a road allowance to the Grange Sideroad.

Includes almost 5 km of road walking including 1 km along a busy road.

2.9 of Toronto + 0 to 5.2 of Caledon  + 1.45 side trails = 9.55 km total (Edition 31)

6.65 km of this hike can be logged towards the “60 for 60th Anniversary” badge
