Please carefully read safety procedures during the hike:
1-Hikers must stay between the leader and the sweep.
2-Hikers must advise the leader or the sweep if they wish to leave the group.
3- Hikers must follow the whistle instructions: 1 blast- stay where you are; 2 blasts come to the leader; 3 blasts – come to the leader quickly.
4-Hike leader may request volunteers to stop at trail intersections, they need to help hikers to the direction the group walk and wait till they see the sweep .
5-Hikers have to make sure they can see the persons behind and in front of

This is the second hike towards the winter E2E badge. We will car shuttle to km 22.0 and hike back. Bring icers, snowshoes and two litters of water. Arrive 15 minutes early. Hikers are expected to hike in a pace of 4.5 km per hour.

Looking for a holiday de-stressor and a learning opportunity? Enjoy a ~7 km walk/hike to the Indigenous Medicine Garden located in the Albion Hills Conservation Park property. I’ll share what I have learned about the medicine garden while we enjoy the eclectic conservation area. Do dress for the weather, layer up, there are open areas and well treaded boots/hikers are a must. Bring your icers. We will follow the winter trail route and use the paved road as needed. Pack your personal items, meds, water, snacks/lunch. There are washrooms at meet up spot.
We will meet up at 9:45 AM in the parking lot closest to the chalet: Chalet Building, Albion, ON L7E 0M8.

Join me for a pre New Year’s Eve hike and social before the big night.We will complete a short loop hike on the main trail and Bennet side trail. After the hike we will enjoy refreshments in Georgetown at the Sheppard’s Crook (or alternate TBA) and toast to the new year.
Trail conditions will be variable and possibly slippery. Bring icers in case of need.
To get to the meeting place drive north on Trafalgar Road past Georgetown to Silver Creek. Turn right off Hwy 7 back onto Trafalgar Road. Go north about 1.5 km to the entrance to Scotsdale Farm on the right. The parking area is about 0.5 km from the road.
