Distance: 8.5 kmDescription
This hike is a great opportunity to get in some extra exercise before the onslaught of Christmas meals! This loop hike is a favourite. We’ll hike up the steep and impressive Avalanche Pass side trail and then follow the escarpment edge to the Waisberg Lookout where we’ll enjoy the view. We return via the Wilson Homestead Trail and the Vanishing Wall Trail and finally the Silent Valley Trail. Point of interest include the remains of the old Wilson Homestead and the remains of a Cessna 205 which tragically crashed into the trees in 1970. There are several steep up and down portions of this hike, with uneven footing, making it suitable for experienced hikers.River and Ruin and loop
