Description
We will hike into the accessible crevices to see fossils (no dinosaurs!) and the lush mix of species that are at home along the rocky shelves of the Niagara Escarpment. Roughly 14,000 years ago the entire area was covered by glaciers and we will chat with a professional geologist about how the melting water formed today's landscape. There will be time to admire the views and trees. The white cedars, some more than 1,000 years old, clinging to weathered rock faces are impressive.
