Description

Fifth hike in the Winter E2E series. We will car shuttle to km 71.9 and hike back. There is some road walking, which makes it easier and faster. Please bring icers, snowshoes and 2 litres of water. Arrive 15 minutes early. Pace is expected to be 4.5 km per hour. All hikers are expected to follow Covid 19 protocols. Hike date may change due to bad winter conditions.

Description

This is the first of 4 hikes needed to earn the new badge.  It is a long hike, but fairly flat and mostly on pavement.  You will get a flavour of all 4 Welland Canals during the hike.  Please refer to the Badge section of the NBTC website for information about all 4 hikes and the required pictures.

Description

This will be an out and back hike.  There are some rocky climbs and descents.  Depending on the weather it can be muddy &/or slippery.  Recommend Hiking boots, poles and icers.  Please bring water and a snack.
