    Directions: From Hwy#10, head west on Old Base Line Road to Mississauga Road. Turn right and head north to the Grange Sideroad. Turn right and head east to Creditview Road.

    Description

    Beat the winter blues! Register individually for one, a few, or all of our Frosty Five Winter Blues Badge weekday hikes. Participants who complete all five hikes will be eligible to receive a CHBTC Winter badge and a Sideways badge on the final hike. Hike one explores parts of the main Trail and Trimble, Crow’s Nest, and Ring Kiln Side Trails. Bring your choice of hydration and snacks. Hiking boots and icers/crampons are required. See January 17, January 31, February 14, and February 28 for details pertaining to the other hikes in the series. (Note:  If you wish to purchase badges, the cost of each badge is $10.00 for BTC members and $15.00 for non-members.)

    Description

    We will meet at the roadside parking on Dunby Rd, and hike south along the Main trail for 2.5 km. We will then follow the Cam Snell Side Trail loop (2km), and return on the Main trail. For those wishing a shorter hike, return to the parking before the Side Trail (4km). Please come prepared for the weather. Snowshoes, icers and/or poles may be needed. Bring snack.

    After completing the Ball’s Falls hike, we will drive to Jordan Main Street Parking Lot beside RPM Bakehouse ( 43.1492718 -79.3696930) and complete the walking tour of the town.
    Hikers have the option to do the next hike from Mountainview Conservation (43.157888 -79.498415) independently or with the leader on the same day.

    Description

    This series of 3 hikes is a joint effort of NBTC and the Lincoln Museum to introduce hikers to the Niagara Benchlands area.  We will complete the Ball’s Falls hike first, then move to the town of Jordan and explore the historical homes in town as well as the Museum if it is open.

    After these 2 sections are completed, hikers will have the option to 1) continue to Mountainview Conservation to complete the third hike with the hike leader or 2) complete this hike independently when convenient.  If #2 is the choice, then hikers will need to submit the required information independently to receive the badge.

    If completing all 3 hikes, then badges will be available after the third hike.  Members $10, Non members $15

    Description

    Please be prepared with icers’s or snowshoes. We will park on the Osprey-Blue Mountains Townline at the Clearview Townline at km 44.5. The white blazed trail immediately climbs the escarpment along a narrow winding forested path. At a mid-elevation plateau, the trail and forest open up. We will take the Standing Rock and Caves Side Trail which involves moving up through narrow crevices and some climbing between huge rock formations. Make sure you bring crampons if not wearing snowshoes! We will stay on the white blazed trail hiking past Eagle Cres. parking area and then around to the Singhampton Side Trail, looping back down the white blazed trail to the cars.Bring a snack or lunch and water.     Description

    We will hike through Shell Park and trails in Bronte to Bronte Creek and Bronte Harbour, returning via the lake and pioneer cemetery.
